Ice breaker Oden assisting us in the Northern Gulf of Bothnia.

We got stuck a few times when the track got swallowed up by the ice.

We got stuck in an ice floe and blew a gasket in the propellor so we had to get some repair men from Rolls Royce to fix it, by Helicopter.
Gangway to ice!

Yours truly standing on 50 to 70 cm thick ice beside the ship waiting for the helicopter.

Me again on the way to the chopper with survival suits to the arriving visitors,
it wasn't that cold minus 10 degrees.
After our adventures in the ice we got back to more liquid surroundings later on and are now proceeding to St. Petersburg, the Russian Ice breakers are noticibly silent and absent from the radio, radar and AIS, but we will see them soon as we approach the Gulf of Finland ice, more pics to follow of Ivan and his Nuke powered ice breakers (maybe Nukes maybe diesels don't know yet)
Anyway time to hit the scratcher!
